Staying Positive and Happier
If you are anything like me it seems staying positive is becoming more and more of a challenge. I have come to realize some people truly love to be negative and bring other people down with them. You all have at least one person you know who is always negative and complaining even when something good happens to them. Negative people can suck the life out of you and drain your spirit if you let them. There are some things you can do daily to stay positive and be happier.
If you listen to any motivational speaker or life coach they will tell you that the key to life to be happy and live in abundance is expressing gratitude. There is one quote that speaks volumes to this. " If we don't feel grateful with what we already have, what makes us think we will be happy with more?-unknown" People time and time again think if they just make this much more money they will be happier or if they drive this type of car they will be happier. Realizing what you have already in your life and being thankful for what and who is in your life will make it ENOUGH. You will have everything you need. Express gratitude everyday. Spend every morning expressing gratitude for three things you have in your life. Every night think about the best thing that happened in your day and express gratitude.
One thing I do with my son when he comes home from school is ask him "What's the best thing that happened today?" This way he is thankful for what happened and asking him that one question helps create conversation. Any parent knows if you ask "How was school?" the answer is usually either 'good' or 'fine'.
Use Positive Words
What we say can greatly impact others and ourselves. If you constantly criticize yourself whether telling yourself your are ugly and fat or put yourself down because comparing yourself to others then your thoughts become truths. "All that we are is a result of what we thought-Budda" Using positive words helps us have positive thoughts. Try to go a day, a week, a month not saying anything negative about yourself or others. Avoid gossiping, and talking negatively about others. When you focus on being positive you will attract more positivity into your life. "Whatever you hold in your mind on a consistent basis is exactly what you will experience in your life.-Tony Robbins"
Think positive you will be more positive and happier.
" No person was ever honored for what he received. He was honored for what he gave-Calvin Coolidge" It's simple. Giving makes you feel good. When you do things for other people it helps heal you on the inside and grows you as a person. You must give because you want to and not because you want something in return. The happiest people in life are the ones that give not the ones that receive. So give. No one has ever felt sad about doing for others and giving of themselves.
Let go of the past. You can never appreciate what you have or be able to focus on the future if you are living in the past. You cannot change what someone has done to you or what you have done to yourself. Forgive others and forgive yourself. Forgiveness is freedom. When you forgive you free yourself from the anger and the hurt you experienced. Forgiveness leads you to the road of healing. Holding onto anger of the past and holding grudges will only destroy you. You don't have to forget what has happened to you but if you forgive you can remember it without all the pain. "Life becomes easier when you learn to accept the apology you never got.-R.Brault"
You must take care of yourself in order to be your best self. Three ways to improve your self care.
1. Physically: Take a walk, take a bath, exercise, play with your pet, get moving outside, organize and de-clutter your home.
2. Mentally: Read a book, learn a new skill like photography, colour, turn your phone and all electronics off
3. Emotionally: meditate, do yoga, write in a journal

Lastly I would like to leave you with a quote from William Shakespeare that pretty much sums of this up very nicely.
