Bath Salt Ornaments
Bath salt ornaments can make the perfect gift for the holidays. It can be a great teacher gift, gift for a friend or family member. Each ornament can be different colours and different scents. The options are endless and completely up to you and your imagination. The ones I made above are ones I made as Christmas gifts this year for my son's teacher and stocking stuffer for family. I call them CANDY CANE ORNAMENTS. Here's how you make them.
First thing first you need is to get yourself some empty clear ornaments. I got mine at a local craft store Michael's.
Next in two separate bowls add equal parts Epsom salts and baking soda. I did 1 cup Epsom salt and one cup baking soda in each bowl. Then in one of the bowls add your food colour of choice. I was aiming for red but got more of a deep pink instead. Still looks great! These ornaments are candy cane smelling so I added doTERRA peppermint essential oil.
Using a muffin pan to keep your ornaments steady fill each ornament with about a tablespoon of first colour. In this case I decided to start with white. Just use a funnel to avoid making too much of a mess.
Next you can add about a tablespoon of your next colour. Then repeat the process with white once you are done filling ornaments with colour mixture.
Next put your tops back on and your done! Super easy and super cute!!. I ended up putting 3-4 of these in a gift bag with a little note with instructions on it for my son's teacher.
You can add about half an ornament to your bath water or more if you prefer and ENJOY!
Christmas time can be very expensive depending on how many people you want to buy for. Making DIY gifts from the heart can be so much better. The aroma benefits just from making them is worth the try alone. This is a great DIY to do with your kids too.
